Laser controllers - while most laser types (like IPG™, SPI™, YAG, CO2, other fiber lasers) can be controlled the scanner controller card directly, some of them require special control commands. These lasers can be accessed by special control plug-ins:
Vendor | Type | Development State | Remarks |
---|---|---|---|
miscellaneous | Type: CO2, YAG, IPG™, SPI™ andsimilar | Development State: stable |
directly supported via most scanner controller cards, no separate laser control interface necessary |
Coherent™ | Type: Avia | Development State: stable |
|
generic | Development State: stable |
basic support for all lasers with serial interface and ASCII communication |
|
SPI™ | Type: G4 | Development State: stable |
ASCII-commands via serial interface |
Motion controllers - an elementary part of manufacturing and process control deals with motion operations:
Vendor | Type | Development State | Remarks |

HALaser Systems™ | Type: E1701M Stepper MotorController | Development State: stable |
Multiple axis controller for motion operations and single axis controller for Z-Shifter elements |
Type: E1803D Intelli-IO extension in motion mode | Development State: stable |
4-axis motion control add-on board for E1803D scanner controller card | |
Faulhaber™ | Type: Series MCBL 300x RS,MCDC 300x RS, 3564...B CS, 32xx...BX4 CS and 22xx...BX4 CSD |

Process control - a professional laser sintering/3D stereo lithograhpy process needs to control different additional parameters beside of the main operation. Such parameters - like temperature, gas concentration, gas pressure and other things more - can be checkend and influenced by this special category of plug-ins which also can be extended by own ones using the free-of-charge software development kit (SDK) which makes development easy:
Vendor | Type | Development State | Remarks |
---|---|---|---|
generic | Type: Get temperature via scannercontrollers analogue input | Development State: stable |
retrieves temperature and halts marking process |
Optris™ | Type: LT Pyrometer | Development State: stable |
retrieves temperature and halts marking process |
Pewatron™ | Type: FCX gas sensor controller | Development State: development |
retrieves gas concentration and halts marking process when it is out of a defined range |
The table below gives an overview about the possibilities to drive (stepper) motors, their advantages and features. This list contains only these solutions which are directly available by us, for other motion controllers which are available from within RepliSLS3D 3D laser printer software and RepliMark laser marking software please refer above.
